132 reviews · 4.9★
Storm season is when Boise Googles a roofer. The site leads with before/afters and a one-tap estimate.
◆ HVAC · Meridian

The day the AC quits in July, people call whoever shows up first online. A booking page catches it.
◆ Tree Service · Eagle

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight Answers

01 What does the monthly fee actually cover?
More than keeping the lights on. Hosting and upkeep are part of it — your site stays live, loads fast, and never goes stale. But the monthly is really paying for the part that makes the phone ring: your Google Business Profile kept sharp and the local-search work that decides whether someone searching your trade at 9pm finds you or the other guy. A site that just sits there is a brochure. The monthly is what turns it into something that works while you’re on a job.
02 Who owns the website?
You do — and I mean that plainly, because a lot of this industry doesn’t. Your domain is registered in your name and it’s always yours. No contracts, cancel any month. While you’re a client the site itself is licensed to you; if you ever walk, seven months’ fee buys it outright, or it comes down after thirty days. No holding your site hostage, no fine print, no gotcha when you leave. The whole thing runs on you staying because it’s working, not because you’re stuck.
03 How long until it’s live?
Two to three weeks start to finish — usually closer to twelve days. You’ll have a first draft to look at within a week of us talking, a round of changes after that, then it goes live. I move fast on purpose: you earned the reputation already, the site should be out there working for you, not sitting in “coming soon” for two months like the last guy promised.
04 I already have a website. Why would I switch?
Depends entirely on the site you have. There’s a real difference between having a website and having one that actually gets found — plenty of trades sites look fine and still don’t show up when someone searches, load slow on a phone, or don’t give a visitor an obvious way to call. Send me your link. I’ll look at it honestly and tell you straight — if it’s already doing its job, I’ll say so and you’ve lost nothing. If it isn’t, I’ll show you exactly where it’s leaking work.
05 Most of my business is word-of-mouth. Do I even need this?
That’s the best kind of business — and it’s exactly why this matters more than you’d think. When someone gets your name from a neighbor, the first thing they do is Google it before they call. If nothing comes up, or what comes up looks half-finished, that’s a flicker of doubt at the precise moment they were about to trust you. A real site doesn’t replace word-of-mouth — it makes every referral close easier, because it backs up what their neighbor already told them.
06 Will this actually get me on Google and bring in calls?
Here’s the honest version, because you deserve it over a sales pitch: the website is the foundation, but the calls come from the whole picture — your Google Business Profile, a steady flow of reviews, and the local-search work that lifts you in the map. That’s the monthly at work, and it compounds. It isn’t a switch that flips overnight. What I can tell you is the businesses that show up first in this valley aren’t always the biggest — they’re the ones whose online presence is actually tended. That’s the game, and it’s a winnable one.
07 Why do you build the mockup before I’ve paid anything?
Because talk is cheap and I’d rather just show you. Anyone can say “hire me and I’ll build you something great.” I’d rather hand you the actual thing — built around your real reviews, your trade, your city — and let it make the case on its own. If you love it, we talk. If you don’t, you’ve spent nothing and you keep the idea. It’s a strange way to run a business, maybe. But it’s the honest one, and it’s why the people who say yes tend to stay.
— Chapter 07

Letter from the Editor.

There’s a name at the bottom of this letter for a reason.

The best businesses in the Treasure Valley — the roofers, the plumbers, the tree crews with a hundred honest reviews — were invisible online. They earned their reputation the hard way and had nothing to show for it. So I started building.

I build the website first. You see the real thing before we ever talk money — no decks, no discovery calls, no jargon, just a site made by hand, for one business at a time. If it isn’t right, you walk. That’s the whole arrangement.

You put your name on your work because you stand behind it. That’s why mine is on every site I build — including this page. Quiet websites for loud reputations.
